La terra ha tremato e ciò che l’uomo ha costruito, in pochi attimi è scomparso. Ciò che era casa di tante vite, metafora di continuità e di memoria non esiste più. Ma il ricordo, quello intimo, personale, quello che rivivrà nei racconti e nelle storie, non è stato toccato. Questo è ciò che voglio celebrare: le parole e le immagini che si conservano intatte anche in un cuore provato dal dolore della distruzione. Tutto il valore è dentro gli uomini e le donne che oggi devono ricostruire con mani forti. Ho sbriciolato il pezzo di un piatto recuperato dalle macerie, vestigia di qualcosa che non c’è più e che non può tornare. E da questa consapevolezza, dalla forza di una memoria intoccabile, mi auguro che l’Abruzzo possa costruire pensando al futuro, onorando il passato, superando la tragedia di ciò che è andato perso per sempre. The ground trembled and what people have built, vanished in few seconds. What once was home for many people, metaphor of memory and continuity, does not exist anymore. Despite that the intimate memory has not been spoilt, it will still stay alive in the tales of people. That’s what I want to celebrate: the words and the images that still keep intact in a heart that has been worn out by pain and doom. The whole value is inside men and women that have to be strong and rebuild everything. I’ve crumbled the the rest of a dish taken out of the rubble,trace of something that doesn’t exist anymore and can’t come back. And from this awareness, from the strength of an untouchable memory, my wish for Abruzzo is to build thinking about the future, with respect for the past, overcoming the tragedy of what has been lost forever. L’eccessiva illuminazione notturna, anche nelle aree extra urbane, ha come prima conseguenza la perdita di percezione dell’universo che ci circonda. Perdersi a guardare il cielo notturno, prendendo coscienza della sua infinitezza, della distanza delle stelle, della presenza di un cosmo in cui galleggia il nostro pianeta, significa pensare all’universo, immergersi in una poesia altrimenti dimenticata. Il progetto di questa scatola che riproduce sulla propria superficie le 12 costellazioni zodiacali, attraverso le quali filtra la luce innaturale della notte inquinata dalle troppe fonti luminose, vuole aiutare, con un po’ d’ironia, a ritrovare l’emozione di guardare le stelle. Anche di giorno.
The extreme night lighting, also in extra-urban areas, has as first consequence the loss of perception of the univers that surrounds us. Getting lost looking at the starry night, realizing how endless is the sky, how far are the stars and getting aware of the cosmos in which our planet floats, means thinking about the universe and immerse oneself in a poetry that otherwise tends to get lost. On the top surfaces of the different boxes are reproduced 12 constellation of the zodiac through which penetrates the artificial light of our night. The aim of the project is to help to find again, ironically, the emotion of looking at the stars. Even during the day.
