L’idea di My.Prototype è stata quella di chiedere ad alcuni bambini di pensare ad un oggetto che secondo loro mancasse nella quotidianità. In seguito si è pensato di coinvolgere alcuni designer in modo da poter tradurre queste idee brillanti in un progetto possibile. È stato così che Nicole, una bambina delle elementari, ci ha fornito un’ idea per un arredo. Abbiamo così reinterpretato l’idea iniziale realizzando un arredo che “da una mano” nel verso senso della parola. Quasi a suggerire che gli oggetti, anche quando sembrano silenziosi e dormienti, in realtà sono sempre presenti, come i vecchi amici del resto.

In order to come up with the idea for My.Prototype, we asked to some kids what was an object that was missing in their daily life. Subsequently, we thought about involving designers in order to translate their brilliant ideas in a potential project. This is how Nicole, a primary school girl, gave us the idea to create a furniture. After that we interpreted the first idea by realising a furniture that “gives an hand” in the true sense of the word. This project reminds us that objects, even when they are silent and “asleep” are always present in our lives, like old friends.
