Un occhiale per celebrare la quinta edizione dell’Hannibal Classic non poteva che avere delle forme classiche, equilibrate ed eleganti. Nessuna ostentazione di segni ma garbo ed equilibrio, proprio come le vecchie signore del mare sanno testimoniare. Unica nota distintiva e “fuori dalle righe” è data da una dolce curva lungo le astine che richiama la chiglia lunga delle imbarcazioni d’epoca. Un suggerimento ben accolto di Doriano 

Mattellone, raffinato homo faber senza il quale la bella avventura di W-eye non sarebbe potuta nascere. Il Teak utilizzato è stato recuperato dal restauro di una gloriosa imbarcazione del 1938. Spetterà ai fortunati possessori di questi occhiali custodirne l’anima, come nella migliore tradizione marinaresca che ho imparato da quando vado in mare con il mio piccolo legno.

A pair of glasses to celebrate the fifth edition of the Hannibal Classic could only have classic, balanced and elegant shapes. No ostentation of signs but grace and balance, just like the old ladies of the sea know how to testify. The only distinctive note and “out of the box” is a gentle curve along the temples that recalls the long keel of vintage boats. A well-received suggestion from Doriano Mattellone, refined homo faber without whom the beautiful adventure of W-eye could not have been born. The Teak used was recovered from the restoration of a magnificent 1938 boat. It will be up to the lucky owners of these glasses to preserve its soul, as in the best nautical tradition that I have learned since I went to sea with my little wood.
