Polimi Award

Politecnico di Milano 2016
Assistente al progetto: Maurizio Prina
Premio / Prize

In 2015 Matteo Ragni was elected alumnus of the year, receiving the prestigious award from his University in the form of a no-design plexiglass plaque. He was spontaneously struck by the desire to redesign the award, both to maintain the high prestige of Milan’s Polytechnic University and to proudly display the award in the studio.

A contemporary award was created, and custom-3D printed by Polimi hub. The base is the projection of a 45º cube, composed of three areas representing architecture, engineering, and design. This two-dimensional projection then regains its third dimension, becoming an empty cube that holds the plaque bearing the award-winner’s name.
